KCC Lot 2 Placements

They will have an achievable aspiration to obtain paid work or volunteer. They will work in one of our sites depending on their skills and work aspirations. We will also work with local employers to find a mainstream work placement for them to undertake during the programme and they will have access to our employer engagement team who will help with job searching, CVs, applying for jobs, supporting them with interviews and providing any in work support or training.

This is much more intense and structured programme than Lot 1 and follows a similar format to the Supported Internship Programme but is accessible to people over the age of 25. The funding for this programme is £25 an hour.

To access the funding for these programmes:

• If you are already known to social services and have a social worker then you will need to speak to them about a referral.
• If you are not known to social services then you will need to ask for a care needs assessment. This can be done online through this link care needs assessments – Kent County Council more information can be found here – Home | Kent | Kent (connecttosupport.org).

The care needs assessment looks at how your needs impact on your wellbeing and the outcomes you would like to achieve in your daily life. We will assess your care and support needs with you, and decide if they are at the level where you need support. Your needs could be eligible if you are not able to do a combination of certain things that significantly affect your wellbeing.

These may include:

• Washing yourself
• Getting dressed
• Going to work, college or volunteering
• Keeping your home safe for you to live in
