Volunteering with us- what you need to know

Beige Terrain 1

Here at Lily’s we offer a wide range of placements and internships to provide opportunities for neurodiverse individuals and those with learning difficulties to enter the workplace. But you should also know that we also take volunteers!

Do you agree with our mission and have some spare time to help support your local neurodiverse community? If so, we cordially invite you to fill out our volunteering form and get started!

As a volunteer you will be guided through the different roles we have available for you and choose one that suits your skillset or area of interest. Volunteering with us is exceedingly flexible, we are happy to fit around your schedule for as many or as few hours as suit you. All that matters is your passion and participation.

Our volunteering program is tailored for those who require very little support who aren’t eligible to take part in our other opportunities like our internships and apprenticeships. Our volunteers do a lot of their work independently, things like sending newsletters and planning our social media posts. As such, volunteers must be confident with managing deadlines and other responsibilities relatively unaided. This doesn’t mean that you will be working entirely alone, just that this position might not be suitable for those who have difficulty with motivation completing tasks when not directly supervised.

An example of the type of work that volunteers do is this very post! This was written by a volunteer and is just one instance the kind of jobs you can do here. Another with us works in the café in Ramsgate helping staff with their day-to-day activities. We also have a volunteer who has been with us almost since our opening, now over 7 years ago. Currently she works as a trustee and brightens our meetings with her unflinching positive attitude.

If all of this sounds like something you’d be interested in, awesome! We can’t wait to have you on our team, and we look forward to hearing from you.
